Sierra Nevada is the southernmost resort in Europe and the highest in Spain, and that oddity shows in everything: you ski between 2,100 and 3,300 metres, across 107 kilometres and 124 runs, and the season runs on well after others have closed. You will ski in shirtsleeves here more often than you would expect. Granada is 27 kilometres away, so you can come off the slopes and finish the same day over tapas in the old town. Few resorts let you do that.
