Morzine

Morzine is a real town, with a town hall, shops and a life of its own rather than a resort put up for the season. It sits at the heart of the Portes du Soleil, one of the largest linked areas in Europe, with Switzerland a couple of lifts away. The skiing runs through trees and varies a lot, and the link to Avoriaz widens the terrain without changing pass. A good base for a family week with something going on in the afternoon.
